Jennifer Maund, LPC
Completed her Masters in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in 2014, as well as a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Westlake who works with individual adults using a psychoanalytic approach that focuses on the relationship between the therapist and the client. She uses a psychoanalytic approach because she values the honest exploration into what lies beneath the surface to assist clients (and herself) with the struggles and uncertainties of life.
Randy Frazier, PhD
Received his PhD from the Counseling Psychology Program at UT Austin, in 1991. Dissertation integrated Family Systems and Attachment Theories as they inform us on relationship development. He served as a Staff Psychologist at Austin Regional Clinic for seven years before entering private practice in 1997. Currently offering individual, couples, and group psychotherapy for adults and adolescents from a psychoanalytically-informed perspective. Also served as Adjunct faculty to the University of Texas Counseling Psychology Program, teaching courses in Counseling Theory and Technique, Psychological Assessment, and Measurement and Evaluation.
Kery Rowden, LCSW
A graduate of UT-Austin’s Steve Hicks School of Social Work, Kery is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice offering psychoanalytically-informed counseling for adults. Kery’s clinical experience includes individual and group work with adults of all ages, from students to seniors, in a variety of settings, including a skilled nursing facility, community mental health clinic, and now in private practice. Prior to becoming a social worker, Kery spent many years in the business world, and is currently licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
Sophie Abel, LCSW
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Austin that offers individual and couples counseling for adults. Specializes in working with attachment issues presenting in difficulties relating to self or to others from a psychodynamic framework. She is a graduate of the UT Steve Hicks School of Social Work and brings to private practice a variety of prior experiences in community, hospital, and school settings.
Tara Chivukula, LCSW
A psychoanalytic psychotherapist in Austin, TX, Tara specializes in work with individuals, couples and families around issues of culture, race, identity, transition, and intergenerational trauma. She is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Social Work and completed analytic training at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis, Inc. in New York City. Tara is currently the Division 39, Section IV local chapter representative and is the current Education Committee Chair. She Is in private practice in Austin, TX.
Dylan Davies, LPC, LMFT
Is a psychoanalytically informed psychotherapist that specializes in couples therapy, sex therapy and modern analytic group therapy. Dylan seeks to integrate body-oriented therapy approaches alongside her analytic foundation for issues related to chronic pain, trauma and unexplained somatic symptoms. She has a special interest in working with clients looking to find relief from out-of-control sexual behavior, sexual shame and sexual pain disorders. Dylan serves as the head of the Marketing Committee for Austin Psychoanalytic.
JoAnn Ponder, PhD
JoAnn Ponder, PhD is a psychologist/psychoanalyst in private practice in Austin. She completed her training in adult psychoanalysis at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Houston, where she currently serves on the faculty. She also completed postgraduate training programs in object relational family/couples therapy, infant-Parent MH intervention, and psychoanalytic writing. JoAnn has presented at national and international psychoanalytic conferences. In 2004, she was awarded a candidate paper prize by the Houston Psychoanalytic Society. Her publications include a co-edited a book about women’s issues, book chapters about adoption and parent loss, and professional journal articles about trauma, climate change, gun violence, and human-animal identifications. JoAnn serves on the boards of two national psychoanalytic organizations.
Jorie Himmel, PhD
Received a bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College and her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England. In her private practice, Psychology ATX, Jorie provides individual therapy using a relational and psychodynamic framework. She views the therapeutic relationship as the site of potential transformation and understands her clients within the many contexts which inform their lived experiences — social, economic, racial, generational, and cultural. Jorie works with her
clients to examine the connection between internal and external experiences. When not working with her patients, Jorie is likely to be spending time outside, snuggling with her dogs, Hunter & Hazel, or trying out new cooking projects.
Richard Wallace, LCSW-S
Is an LCSW, and Approved Clinical Supervisor. In his administrative capacity he’s managed state and national managed care accounts for Medicaid and Commercial behavioral health benefits. In his clinical service capacity he has worked with children, teens, adults and families for over 30 years in a variety of settings. His clinical training site included the San Antonio Health Science Center’s psychiatry services. Currently, he is in full time private practice working with all age groups, couples and families in Austin, Texas.
Paul Boone, LPC, LMFT, LCDC
Master of Divinity From Duke 1987, Case manager at the Faulkner Center with addicted adolescents and their families, Started private practice January 1989, Became an Advanced Clinician in Imago Relationship Therapy 1995, Certified Experiential therapist 2002, Certified Psychoanalytic psychotherapist 2015, Approved LPC and LMFT Supervisor, Adjunct professor at Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest, Currently offer individual, couples and group psychotherapy.
Inbal Kleinerman, PhD
A native of Israel, decided to make Austin her home after several transitions between countries and continents. Awarded a PhD from the University of Bar-Ilan in Israel. Dissertation focused on attachment theory of children and their teachers in the school setting. Her M.A degree also from Bar-Ilan University is in child clinical/educational/developmental psychology. Currently works at a private practice in the West Lake area, where she focuses on children’s mental health and uses play therapy with her young clients. Provides parental guidance, often relying on her expertise in the subspecialty of bedwetting. She also enjoys working with adults and couples from a psychodynamic perspective.
Richard Nicastro, PhD
Is a psychologist in private practice in Austin working with individuals and couples. After receiving his PhD from the New School for Social Research in NYC, he completed a two-year post doc at the Traumatic Stress Institute in Connecticut where he trained in relational-psychodynamic informed trauma work. He conducted research on
the therapeutic alliance with survivors of childhood abuse. In private practice for over twenty years, his therapy approach is informed by relational-analytic perspectives.
Louis Haling, LMSW
A graduate of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work
at UT Austin, Louis is currently working as an inpatient psychiatric social worker. Throughout his career, Louis has worked with child, adolescent, and adult populations in various clinical settings as well as in clinical research. His professional interestsinclude psychoanalysis, attachment theory, and critical social work.
